The finished composer's desk. The MIDI keyboard is built in at a lower level than the computer keyboard for a comfortable playing height. The desk is made from 3/4" Oak plywood with Oak 1x2 edging.

A closer look at the built-in racks. Synthesizer modules are in the close rack, and mix processors are closer to the mixer.

Close-up of some of the angled joinery that gave me headaches. I couldn't really visualize this 3D stuff on paper, I just had to do it in my head. I made it a bit wider in case I ever added a different keyboard, and inadvertantly gained a cubby for my pencils and headphones.

Mission control. I tried to cover as much of the MIDI keyboard as possible, so the computer keyboard could be moved forward, while exposeing the controller wheels on the left. Monitor level control is from the Central Station at the top of the rack, and the two screens and trackballs are for the Mac and Giga PC.
